I tell Waleed, my 11 y/o nephew, that he should fatten up. Hes no heavier than a feather, and Im afraid a light wind will blow him away. Then I laugh, because indeed, he is that thin. He moves through the den, steps from the shadows directly in front of me, and working from instinct, he grabs my right arm and spins it behind me, wedging it at a painful angle behind my back. His other arm wraps around my neck. I feel this incredible pain, like I cant breathe, and I drop to the floor. “OM(F)G, Waleed. . I cant breathe man, don’t take my arm off I gasp, clearly in agony, by the sound of my breath hitching. “You know better than to laugh at the wind blowing me away, Mounir!” He laughs. Though I stand a solid foot taller than him, he still has the strength to best any “normal” man in physical combat thanks to the Mixed Martial Arts training which thrives in his body. Lesson learned - I shouldnt make fun of thin people. It never ends well.
