I tend to have a fairly jaded perspective regarding those who - TopicsExpress

I tend to have a fairly jaded perspective regarding those who appear to be in need, how they arrived there, and how they stay there. This is mostly because of what I see everyday. This video offers a very touching point of view. However, there are MANY people working over the extremely flawed system that was put into place to help those who truly cannot help themselves. I have found it so much more difficult to give because of this disgusting and lazy portion of the population. I believe it is these people that have made those who can give less inclined to do so. In my heart I want to help as many people as possible but my head protects me from being taken advantage of and recognizes that not everyone benefits from a handout. This video was made to make you feel guilty for not giving and make you feel like a bad person because you arent sharing your money or your food or your time with the guy on the street corner, or does it? Does it make you feel slightly less firm in your belief that we should be having infinity more discussions about welfare reform? Does it make you feel bad that you have more and more questions about the effectiveness of the healthcare reform act? Do you feel slightly more inclined to support social programs that are run by the government with our tax dollars? Was this video made so that you give more as an individual or was it made to break down a few of your beliefs in a very manipulative emotional way making you feel guilty for what you have? Just slightly...almost unnoticeable. These are just some emotions and feelings that this video drummed up for me, you may feel differently.
