I tend to post a lot about things that are inspiring or wonderful or inspirationally challenging while referencing my own life - and thats because I: A.) only have the one personal experience from which to draw. B.) would rather address victories/issues with forward momentum whenever possible. C.) prefer to address issues that require interpersonal sensitivity in a less public forum. D.) donate money and/or volunteer for causes I believe in, like their pages, and let them develop their own social media algorithm. So that means that a lot of my posts are about how inspired I am by my work or how great my family is. Its cliched, image-crafty and only vaguely enriching even if you really care about me or what I do. Im alright with that. I think one of the interesting things about social media is that we can sort of give ourselves a virtual pat on the back and then deal with more real issues on our own private time/channel. Thats how I prefer to use the medium, at least. So, to that end: Im having just the most absurdly wonderful time with my work right now! -I have a growing number of terrific students and am growing personally as a teacher. -The groundwork (and repair work) Ive striven to implement with CST is gaining traction (strong community involvement, new programs, and increased/revitalized interest from artists) -Im having the time of my life working on one of my favorite musicals with the wonderful students at EWU. -Im singing all the time, am better than ever, and care so much less about how great I am than ever before - Im just enjoying singing for its pure fun factor. Just feelin kinda selfishly groovy tonight :), and grateful there is actually work for a dreamer like me to do. (oh, and of course the family is loved beyond belief - but if I wrote anymore, Id give myself the Facebook equivalent of an ice cream headache)
