So here i go... 1) R.R Bhandari- 150 glorious years of Indian Railways 2)R.N Misra- Indian Railways turnaround 3) Prabhavati shastri Ranade- infrastructure development and its environmental impact ( A case study on Konkan Railways) 4) M.M Agrawal- Indian Railway Track 5) Shagun Mehrotra- Bankruptcy to Billions-how the Indian Railways transformed 6)Bernard de Fontgalland- The world railway system 7)Amtrak- Amtrak... an american story 8)Anuj Dayal- 25 Management strategies for delhi metros success-the sreedharan way 9)Abbeydale press- Classic British Steam locomotives 10) Agatha christie- Murder on the orient express 1)the book by R.R bhandari is wonderful story abt into a profit making organization and gives u a detailed information abt signalling, organization of finances, production units etc., and help u noe hw did the railways come into existence as we see it today the most interesting section on Hill railways and the railway men of british era who contributed to the expansion of railways in India. 2)Books by R.N Misra and Shagun Mehrotra give a fantastic in-depth detail about how the railways turned into a profit making organization 3)The third book is a must read..if u can spend sum time in watching chris tarrants documentary on Konkan Railways then u can surely connect between the two.as to y i am suggesting it so earnestly 4)wanna noe hw speeds of trains are determined based on the tracks chareceteristics?? M.M agarawals Indian Railway Track is the best choice to noe it except fr the formulas and technicality, its a fyn book 5)Bernard de Font gallands world railway system is a fantastic book if u want to noe abt the international organisation that play a crucial role in shaping the different railway systems of the world 6)Amtrak( short form for American Railroad) is an awesum book if u wanna noe about american railroads in a chronological order and hw systematically they operate... a must read book fr sadanand gowda too :) 7)Anuj Dayals book on delhi metro talks about hw even a developing country like India can have world class metro system...read the book...i wont tell u the whole thing :P 8)Abbeydale press classic british steam locomotives as the book name suggests is all about locos..so read and let me noe if u have doubts :P 9)Agatha Christies Murder on orient express is again a thriller novel which revolves around the mysterious murder of a man which is successfully solved by Poirot.. a must recommended book for all literature students... Let me noe if u r interested in factual or fictional part of railways and accordingly i will suggest u the book.
