I think I did it! My computer would randomly shut off and restart. Ran scans for viruses. Nothing. Maybe there is an overheating issue. Opened up computer and blew out all the dust. It had covered up the vents. Seemed to alleviate the issue but it didnt go away. Pulled the fan off the cpu to clean it. Didnt think anything of it but the top of the cpu was flaky. Put everything back together. Problem got worse. Then I read about thermal paste and how it conducts the heat to the heat sink/fan on top of the cpu. Bought thermal paste and applied to heat sink. Re attached to cpu and booted up. No issues. Ran some tests and temps are good. Yay me.
