I think a cool way to kill somebody would be a twist on the concrete shoes idea. But instead of them drowning to death, you equip them with a diving helmet with plenty of oxygen, and drop them into a deep part of the ocean. That way, they get to enjoy the fear of sinking further and further into the abyss, seeing the sunlight fade away as they sink through cold layer after colder layer, while they are slowly being crushed to death by the pressure.
