I think all those angry and agitating against Non-Bodo massacre (38 killed, 15 missing) by armed Bodos in BTAD area of Assam, including AIUDF and other political or student bodies, should place two unanimous demands before State and the Central Governments and ensure that those two demands are fulfilled by any cost. Demands are: (1) Punish all those involved in the recent as well as earlier non- Bodo killings since 2004 and charge them under national security act. (2) Repeal BTAD Act with immediate effect. Assam is simply Assam and there cannot be another state within state ignoring all human and basic rights of 70% of population. Notably in BTAD non-Bodos- Bengali- Muslims and Hindus, Assamese, Santhals and Kochrajbanghshi are in majority, yet an unjustified, unjust autonomy was awarded to only Bodo tribe since 2002. And now they are dancing with innocents blood to create a separate state- Bodoland out of Assam. Therefore its time to push a legitimate, workable set of demand and solve this issue once for all. To me that would the great tribute to the hundreds innocent lives lost in BTAD in last one decade. Resolve that we cannot continue with such nonsense killings year after year, enough is enough.
