I think as you get older I see Jesus in everything. (Sorry this is long) Last night I decided to grab a snack. I went down to the bar grabbed food and was in the elevator with three people, a young black couple and an older lady who was a little tipsy but still nice. We were on a higher floor of the hotel and on the long ride up we all shared our Essence experience with each other. Just before they got off this young couple who I thought were college students and who Id told to be safe and make their mothers proud (Yep, I said that) mentioned they were RECRUITING FOR PRINCETON!!! Yall know I stopped that elevator!! Long story short, I got off the elevator, talked with them, talked about my Louis Tre Zanders and Darius Hinson and they are invited up to Princeton for a personal tour to see their engineering program!!! Wont God do it?!! But I cant help but think what if i would have been cursing like a sailor, dressed inappropriately(Essence goers wore a lot less clothes and dropped pants this year!!) or been intoxicated? What if Id not been friendly or edifying about their experience? You think they would have believed that an invitation to one of the best colleges in our country was wise? My point: Turning up can keep you shut out. You never know whos watching and who Hes sending. Have a good time but still represent God. There are doors all around you that are ready to be opened but are you ready to walk through them? The smallest tests can lead to the biggest testimonies!!
