I think were seeing a societal change. Its been a long time since anyone has said to me, in relation to animal rescue, why should we help over there when there are so many problems here? Maybe we can attribute it to social media, that people now see theres no difference in helping a dog or cat in your own town, city, state, v. in...say...Uganda. Oh, there actually is a difference, in Uganda, if WE dont help, the Uganda SPCA wont be able to function. And certainly this little dog is grateful to us and the USPCA! Abandoned on the side of the road, probably because of her skin condition, the USPCA rescued her, and just 1 week later--see picture--shes doing so much better.
