I think what men dont get about staying at home with kids is that it isnt about the kids... Thats fun and hard but worth it... its not the tantrums that we have to deal with or even the housework... its that we get no appreciation for giving up OUR lives... thats right our lives... I had goals dreams a career planned out... still do but I had to put all that on hold to save money on daycare and to breastfeed so we wouldnt spend money on formula... and also so the kids can be raised comfortably with someone they know and love... I dont think people understand how hard and alienating it is to feel like you have no identity... I mean the whole person I was before is now someone completely different... it can be lonely and depressing at times and frustrating enough without a guy saying you are a useless mom who sits on the couch all day... which is far from the truth because all the stay at home moms I know teach their kids things... I know I do!!! I do workbooks with Jade and therapy exercises with Emmie to help her learn to talk, walk, play, and develop.... So stop and think before You just asume that because you go to work means you have the harder job... its not always true... And idc what people say feeling like you are no one to anyone but a mom can be pretty terrifying and sad.
