I thought Eddie Redmayne was great in The Theory of Everything - for someone who has never been around someone with ALS in person - but I couldnt help but think about Tropic Thunders commentary on actors playing physically/mentally disabled and how that can lead to awards (Im not sure what term to use now.) It got him the Golden Globe. Steven Hawking is, at least, a real person, unlike Jared Letos Rayon, who was fictional and probably extremely stereotypical (I saw a few articles from the LGBT writers lambasting that performance), or Sean Penns Sam from I Am Sam (which I loved when I saw it circa 2001-2), Forrest Gump, Rainman, etc. #thetheoryofeverything #eddieredmayne #oscarnoms #oscarnominations
