DAY 70 - Lanes vitals are good considering the brain injury. PT/OT and Speech Therapy worked with him today. The chest xray showed pneumonia in the lower left lung again so they will continue to monitor it. He is back on the oxygen with the nasal cannula to assist him with breathing. He continues to open and close his eyes and has some movement with them. He continues to move his arms, hands, legs and toes some although it is rigid. The cast is on his right hand to help keep the tone and stretch it out so it is not curled up. A splint is being used on the left hand. He has the boots on his feet to help keep his legs in proper form. The stomach tube is in place for the supplement, medication and fluids. His body continues to heal and recover so he can wake up from the coma (not an induced coma). Until he is able to consistently respond to commands, such as thumbs up or move your fingers or toes, he remains in the coma. Thank you to the medical staff that are taking care of Lane at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers for Lane and the family, as well as for the two girls and their families. (Auntie Mary on behalf of Lane Scotts family)
