I thought I would give pups and humans an update on Duffy, the ATC of Otto armleder dog park. About three weeks ago I posted about his trip to MedVet where they tapped his chest for a lot of fluid, and we were given the probable cause being a cancer. Duffy has had a marked decline, anorexic, rapid breathing, very low energy. Its quite sad to see this sweet five year old appear as a geriatric center escapee. On the good side, he still gives the airplanes a good tongue lashing, even if he cant chase them. This morning he verbally disciplined the two squirrels that were chasing each other around, up and down a huge tree. He enjoys one food, the critical care from Hills. He eats one (5oz) can a day, half in the morning, half at night. He has stopped eating cheese, which for over a week was the only thing he would eat. We go for very short slow walks, usually where it is quiet, and when it is cool. I miss Otto, the pups and the peeps. I think of the frenchie, billy, who runs with the tennis ball in his mouth, jango, who was always on the move, Mickey, the other tri-color collie. Someday I hope I will see all of you again, but it wont be Duffy I introduce to grace, or spirit, or baby. Ill either be alone or with a friend, as soon Duffy will cross the bridge, making new friends and running with old ones that have already crossed. I want to thank everyone for their support and understanding. Critter-lovers are a unique and wonderful group of people.
