I thought I would share whats been on my mind lately. Some will not take the time to read this, and others will. Thank you if you do--- I recently watched Ben Steins documentary, Expelled which discussed academic freedom, particularly concerning evolution vs. creationism. Its an older documentary, but still very informative. Watching it did not bother me until Ben Stein interviewed Richard Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist, author and well-known atheist. Let me just say... what a foolish man! The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good (Psalm 53:1). Dr. Dawkins is the author of the New York Times Bestseller entitled, The God Delusion. In the interview, Dawkins read a quote from his book that literally gave me chills. Here is the quote: “The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.” Wow! I cant help but think of Jesus on the cross when he said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do (Luke 23:34). Of course, when hearing him read this quote, I was full of righteous anger, desperately wanting to defend my Lord. So this post is the result of that. While watching the documentary, Stein asked Dawkins how the first cell came into existence. Dawkins said repeatedly, I dont know. Is it just me or is it absolutely ridiculous to be so adamant about something that you dont know? If folks would read Gods Word with an open heart, they would find the answer to any question they have! But, Satan has blinded the minds of many people. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them (II Corinthians 4:4). There is certainly a spiritual battle that is constantly raging, but I also believe there is a battle between knowledge and faith, which is probably spiritual as well. Prideful, sinful flesh wants to know everything. If there isnt an explanation for something, then it cannot be. People like this are very prideful. I say prideful because the Bible even says in I Corinthians 8:1 that knowledge puffeth up. The intellects may not know it, but the Bible prophesies this. Daniel 12:4 states that ...in the last days, knowledge shall increase. I really feel sorry for these people. I pray that the Lord will reveal to them that Satan has control of their mind. Satan doesnt want you to believe in God! And he is winning the battle by using science, philosophy, and reason! Well, I have news for those who want to know everything --- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Psalm 1:7). I know I cannot leave this topic without defending Gods Word (The Bible). The intellects will say ,You are stupid and ignorant for putting all of your faith in that book. Its the only source you use! Let me respond by saying this --- The Bible is the true, infallible, inherent Word of the Living God. I know this to be true. Gods Word has proven itself over and over and over again. I know it is true because of what it has done in my life! I have never experienced something so powerful outside of the Word of God. It has proven itself historically, scientifically, and prophetically. Think about it --- how can one Book have so many different authors and be written in so many different time periods yet come together so perfectly?! It is the only Book that can read you!! For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). I firmly believe that people disregard the Bible because it is convicting. Which brings me to another point: In the interview with Dawkins, he said that once people let go of God, they will be free. Hmm... I wonder why? They wont have to obey the Word of God nor worry about sin --- they can live any way they want to without being convicted of anything! Smh. Dawkins stated that creationists were stupid people. Well Mr. Dawkins, I can tell people how the first cell came into existence. Can you? I can tell people how the earth was created. Can you? I can even tell people what happens when we die. Can you? Some folks just need to get off their know-it-all high horse, humble themselves, and realize that outside of the Lord, they know nothing. The wisest person in the world doesnt have 32 degrees and get million dollar pay checks; the wisest person in the world is the one that has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and committed their lives to Him. If you havent done that, you can! The Bible says that today is the day of salvation! All you have to do is admit that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and lead and guide you in the life He has for you. Then you know what? After you do this, God says that you have eternal life! Amen! Please, please, please talk to me if you have any questions, doubts, or concerns. We dont have much time left people! God is being extremely merciful and patiently waiting for you to come to Him.
