Chairperson Sharon Pierce called the meeting to order at 6:00PM. Board members present: Kathy Boulden, Sandy Dawson, Gloria McCullough, Tommy McCullough, Jimmi Pate, Sharon Pierce, Millie Scruggs, Donna Smith, and Jim Wooldridge. Also present Karen King, W. A. Tucker, Lawanda Myers, Glenn Matthews, Lynn Pollock, Cathy Swiney, and Principal Alton White. Board members not present: Michael Bush, Kathy Davis, Yvonne Hunsigner, Alan Massey, Gene Savage, and Valisa Schmidley. Minutes from the October 16th meeting were approved. Treasurer’s Report: Checking Balance as of 10-16-1 $ 4571.08 Income: $ 1284.00 Expenses: $ 1574.27 Checking Balance as of 11-20-14: $ 4282.62 Contributions to be disbursed: $50.00 to Vocational HIGHLIGHTS AND UPDATES: Prin. White presented a video that was sent out to 1,800 upcoming 9th graders and passed out copies of Academic Achievement Data Rumble discussion: Can we continue to have a rumble? A committee headed by Kathy Boulden will be presented at the next meeting - members of Board will have final approval of agenda for rumble An Arts/Culinary/Music/Silent Auction dinner approved to be held next April with Jordan students and Sandy as head of committee Suggestion that Alumni buy an ad in the Yearbook Bob Barr Christmas Concert on Dec. 11th with Jordan band and chorus/a raffle will be held for baskets; Board will try to meet beforehand for dinner W. A. Tucker suggested an “Alumni Day” at the school People can visit the school and classes by going through the front office for visitor passes UPDATE ON AUDITORIUM: Alton met with the architects on Wednesday, 11/19 - important to keep the “feel” of the room-put cushion pads on present seats-fix ones that are broken-wheelchair access on front row-tile is asbestos-leave it covered, maybe add carpet where tile is-refinish all paneling-add new “theatre lights” to stage-sound system redone two years ago-clean gloves on lights in ceiling-bathrooms updated-cannot expand, has load bearing wall-question on opening windows-outside stays the same-new stage curtains and walls-nothing none under the seats-four to six months to finish-start in March-heating and air would be replaced by school district if it goes out.
