I took Miley herding yesterday and today. Yesterday she was re-introduced to sheep (shes only seen them at a instinct test then a small clinic). Yesterday we kept her on line, she was engaged and very interested in getting the sheep. We worked 15 minutes both away and go by, putting them in corners and moving them out of the corners. Today we started out the same way, it was beautiful, we released her and she did really nice flanks and beautiful wide circles. It was a sight to see, she did so well. I dont think Ive seen such a big grin on my instructors face. We finished up and came out of the pen, she said ...and thats how its done, and thats a cattle dog. (they are border collie people). I was extremely pleased with Mileys attitude and beautiful movement. She had quite a presence that Id never seen before. I will try to get video next week.
