I took a bad fall, and ended up in the ER with my new knee opened up and a laceration on my arm. It took twenty stitches to fix my knee. I had to be in an immobilizing brace for six days. Then, when my stitches started to unravel, I went to my OD. His assistant took out that line of stitches. There is a second line still intact. They x-rayed my knee to make sure the implant was not compromised. All good there. Then, The doctor came in and examined me. He said there was superficial infection, but that it would not impact my new knee. Still, I have to be on antibiotics and my upper wound is glued shut. So, it is back into the immobilizer for another week. Otherwise, I am fine. Really. -BB
