I took a female pax at 13:49 from Jurong Point to Pasir Ris Drv 6. As usual, I asked her which way she preferred to go which is either via PIE or AYE? She asked if PIE nearer n I said its likely nearer but Ive got info at 13:24 that the PIE had massive jam from Eunos tailbacked till Kallang. That left us with 2 options: A) via AYE, MCE, ECP, PIE exit Loyang. B) via AYE, MCE, KPE, exit Bartley Rd East, TPE exit Pasir Ris Dr 1. She blurred n told me to take the quickest way which I think route A would be the best choice. While Im just an simple guy who drive a taxi to earn a living but Im NOT a road traffic predictor, so I drove as I focused my speed limit along the way. Upon reaching Pasir Ris Drv 6, I asked for direction to her exact location n she told me off Blk 476! in an angry tone manner. But when I was about to turn right to the carpark, once again she told me off Go straight n turn right to the main road! I wanna alight at the bus stop! followed by a sarcastic remark youre new driver, is it?! Are you? While I sensed that shes getting nasty, I kept quiet. Then she started telling me that her usual fare is only $25 n thats what shell pay me. I continued to drive her to the bus stop as requested n she handed me a $50 note when I stopped the meter at $31.12 Swiftly, I returned her change of $20 n she demanded additional change of $5 stating that her usual fare is only $25. While Ive no problem with her demand but Im hurt at her rudeness which then I refused to gave in as I reminded her that Id already informed her of the massive jam on PIE n we had agreed to take the alternative route. Then she started accusing me of driving too slow n taking my own sweet time when she asked me to drive faster. With patience, I explained to her that there are speed camera along the way n Ive to comply with the speed limit to ensure road safety for all other road users but still she demanded her additional change of $5. I insisted that the fare is $30 which then she asked for my receipt n said shed file a complaint. I obliged n pass her the receipt as I wished her good luck. What a day to celebrate my birthday!
