I took a really hard direct hit to my pacemaker this weekend. I ran into the corner of one of the slides of the motorhome and the actual metal corner gouged my skin at the pacemaker site. The impact was so hard that it knocked me to the ground, knocking the wind out of me. When I contacted my cardiologist about it they told me to transmit tonight so we could see if the leads were all functioning properly. When I tried to transmit (it sort of faxes) I got a dial tone after the beeps and tones, then a recorded message saying If you would like to make a call, please hang up and try the call again. I tried to do the transmission again with still no luck. I tried calling the Medtronics CareLink helpline but guess what? They are only open during business hours!! WTF??!! I guess cardiac patients should schedule their heart trouble during business hours huh?!
