I took all three kitties out to see the snow today. They responded completely in character. Moonta, the Buddha kitty, snuggled in my arms, taking in the snow, the ducks, and the cold calmly. Chico, the Nicaragua street kitty, leaned against me shivering in the cold, with his head swiveling in different directions: Snow! Ducks! Ice! When I put his paws in the snow on the table, he looked down in amazement and then started batting the snow around. He is an explorer. I carried Haku out and put his front paws in the snow. In a flash, he climbed up the front of my sweatshirt and distinctly communicated Take me inside! This is awful! So I brought him back inside and he made a beeline into the kitchen as far away from the door as he could get. Meanwhile, Chico was meowing at the back door so I took him back outside to marvel again at the mysterious white world.
