I totally judged someone incorrectly today. I feel bad and I - TopicsExpress

I totally judged someone incorrectly today. I feel bad and I learned a lesson. My dad has been having vehicle problems and the mechanics and dealership have not been able to figure it out. He spent almost 1000 dollars trying to fix it and it did not correct the issue. In the meantime I have been his pushing and towing service when he breaks down. Today during one of his truck break downs I pulled up to the gas station to tow him. There was a guy talking to him in sweat pants and holes in his shirt and pants and looked kind of rugged and rough. My first reaction was he was over there trying to get money out of my dad and I needed to hurry over to help my dad get out of there. Boy was I WRONG. He was telling my dad that he was unemployed and on disability but he knew a lot about vehicles. He told my dad what he believed was wrong with his truck. I of course after all those smart mechanics tried to fix it disregarded his diagnosis. I towed my dad to the nearest mechanic and when they came out to look at his truck we mentioned what the man at the gas station had thought the problem was. They did a quick check and sure enough it was the problem and it was a simple fix. After all that I am surprised this man is not out there helping people or running his own shop. He was so kind to offer his help, no charge, and he knew exactly what he was talking about. I feel bad for my first impression and judgement before I knew what he was doing but I will never forget it. Also thanks for all the new likes to this page this week.
