I tried reading the book series this is based on once. Lets just say that it makes the Twilight series look like fine literature. So, when I heard they were making a movie series based on the books, I was instantly of the opinion that it would suck. After all, youre really only as good as your source material. Well here it is, open October 3rd, and the red flags of epic suckitude abound. Lets see, production company that has done nothing else but this one movie? Check. Director whos most notable accomplishment in film has been being a stuntman in a couple blockbusters? Check. The same leading lady as the cinematic masterpiece, Howard the Duck? Check, and double Check! Finally, Nick Cage as your leading man? Double, triple, quadruple, mega-combo-check!! And from the trailer, it looks to be Nick Cage is at his 100% Nick Cage-iest. The backers of this film are lucky that pastors all over the country will be busing their congregations in to see this turd. One thing you can always count on Christians for is that, when it comes to entertainment, theyll tolerate the undeniably worst crap as long as it reaffirms their faith.
