I tried to book N-joi to specifically play their LIVE IN MANCHESTER E.P. at my 1994 Rave in September with BTTF Events last year and was absolutely gutted their vocalist couldnt make the date. Im a huge fan and to hear they have been booked to play this set at Eurodance Reunion Party for Colours / STREETrave is for me the rave equivalent of The Stone Roses playing Glasgow Green after a 20 year hiatus. I cant begin to tell you how many cassette tapes Ive wore out listening to that E.P. in my car on the way to work and gigs or how massive an infulence they were on my early Ultra Sonic productions , in-fact without their influence on every dance producer back in the day from thier stage show, dancers and most importantly music, the scene just would not be what you knew it or know it to be now. Im certain a few Scottish P.A.s / Bands were formed after experiencing them live and those went on to influence others ! My mate was almost the MC for Ultra-Sonic because he could say Cmon like Nigel from N-joi ! lol The term Legend gets thrown about far too easy these days but N-Joi are a group that truley deserve the accolade for taking Hip-Hop and Rave and giving us something very special to dance too. Im very excited about this gig ( can you tell ? ) and will be on the floor at Ayr Racecourse raving my man boobs off to their full set and if they stick Anthem in the middle I might just pass out !
