I truly affirm to the fact that there is no need for anyone to cry - TopicsExpress

I truly affirm to the fact that there is no need for anyone to cry over a spilt milk, but for posterity sake it will also be in place for one to scrutinize the new sociology galvanising our political system most especially from the angle of electorates. Taking a cue from the just concluded Ekiti gubernatorial election, every neutral and non partisan person would have predicted Dr.Fayemi to had won the election over Peter Fayose in landslide owing to the antecedents of the former and the later. unfortunately the outcome was never palatable as envisaged and anticipated for. The electorates had voted their conscience and whom they think will be the best for them no doubt and i congratulate them. Thats the beauty of democracy we all should appreciate it(popular soverienty). The winner is now basking in euphoria of victory while the loser is wailing in bitterness of loss (sportmanship spirit). My grouse is just on the credence or precedence that Ekiti election might have brought forth, if indeed it will have an overbearing effect on subsequent elections in Nigeria or not, reason i lamented on New Sociology in the foregoing line. Various political parties presumely should have learnt their lessons from the outcome. If a leader like Fayemi whos an astute technocrat and foresighted leader can be sacrifice for a Peter Fayose whos still having a money laundry case in Court, then every leaders in helm of affairs must always listen and heed to the voice of the people whenever they cry because four years is very short for one to be overwhelmed and allow complacency to take over ones mind in the mantle of power. A leader might be seeing what his compatriots are not seeing but the majority should always have their way. Fayemi has contributed his quota even if his people think is not enough. The giant strides and deligency in office of Fayemi cannot be over-emphasised. Posterity will forever judge Gov.Fayemi because his style of governance is rare in our context.
