I try not to rant on here so excuse me this time. I went to a store, Pet Supplies Plus, to buy dog food today and my blood pressure is still probably through the roof. When I went into the store I located the brand I wanted very quickly. Looking through the bags and bags of different types of food, I finally found the type I wanted - for mature dogs, since many times mine act more mature than me. To my delight there was a large cardboard sign on the shelf where the dog food was located that showed the regular price of the food and the sale price if you had a store savings card (you know the one where companies can track your spending habits). The saving was substantial, $12. I took the bag to the cash register, handed my card to the pretty young lady behind the counter, who scanned both my card and the dog food. When she told me the price, I said there was a mistake because that was not the price on the sign. I went back to the shelf to verify that the sign was for the food I purchased. As I was looking at it again, a young man, who I assumed was some type of manager, came over and asked if he could help. I explained the discrepancy and told him I wanted the price on the sign. The bottom line of the story is, he told me that the store stacked two different types of food - get this, mature with large chunks and mature with small chunks - in the same stack. The sign was for the small chunks only even though, on top of putting both types together, their normal price was the same. When he was on about his 3rd repetition of the fact that only the small chunks were on sale, I told him where he could put his food and left. I am not fond of Walmart, but I have to give them credit. The few times something like this has happened to me in one of their stores, the manager immediately gave me the lower price and apologized for the confusion. Guess where I will no longer be buying any pet supplies?
