I try to make any posts positive and non-confrontational. I believe everyone has a right to their opinion and a right to express it. I choose to not usually express mine over Facebook simply because I have friends, family, survivors, and co-workers who read my posts and I know the written word can sometimes come across harsher than verbally and I dont want to hurt anyones feelings. With that in mind I will now give my opinion. This ALS ice bucket challenge is fun and silly. Yes, I see the point where its using a lot of water and for those that have told me if someone wants to donate they dont need to do a challenge like this. I can understand that point of view. However, when you or someone you love is living with a disability or disease you will do ANYTHING to help them, cure them, save them, and show your love and try to get as many financial supporters. Who cares why people are dumping water on themselves? The important thing is the MILLIONS of dollars that is now being donated and the awareness that ALS still exists and needs a cure. If you dont want to, then dont you have that right, but dont make me or anyone feel bad for helping. Helping is a good thing. When did that become a bad thing? I chose to do the challenge and donate, and I will not apologize for it. Please feel free to leave comments, but I ask they only be positive ones. I will not get into a posting war. Like you, I have the right to express my opinion.
