I understand some films are so stupendously awesome there just has to be a remake (e.g Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, True Grit, The Thing, among others). But for the sake of creativity why cant filmmakers come up with fresh material? Or at least something that didnt come from a comic book/graphic novel (unless its done just right then I guess thats fine). Dont get me wrong, I love a good sci-fi/superhero movie but theres only so many Spider-Man movies one can take! Its annoying and Im tired of seeing blockbuster hits making $$$$$$$ because that just encourages Hollywood to produce even more junk that moviegoers will eventually gobble up. Its turning into a vicious cycle! I think a lot of brilliant filmmakers are being shoved to the side because not enough people care enough to appreciate true art in the big screen. Opinions?
