I understand that the idea of a state provided medical system causes many Americans to run to the hills screaming like Godzilla is attacking. But it would be a practical solution to making sure that everyone in society doesnt have to worry about dropping dead of some disease or being able to obtain medical services. Its part of the reason Im glad to live in Europe. Every time I or a family member has needed medical services it has been available without having to worry that it will cause bankruptcy. Providing health care to its citizens should be a basic function of any civilised society.
