I understand the current events concerning police officers bad behavior. I understand the events that have never gone away concerning racism in the United States of America. I understand the current hatred toward one another and especially toward police officers. However, I will NEVER classify all police officers/law enforcement officers into one category - Bad or Abusers. There are many great and outstanding officers who took an oath and took it seriously. POLICE OATH: I........................DO SWEAR,, THAT - I WILL WELL AND TRULY SERVE - OUR SOVEREIGN COUNTRY AND STATE - AS A POLICE OFFICER WITHOUT FAVOR OR AFFECTION - MALICE OR ILL-WILL - UNTIL I AM LEGALLY DISCHARGED, THAT I WILL SEE AND CAUSE OUR COMMUNITY’S PEACE TO BE KEPT AND PRESERVED - AND THAT - I WILL PREVENT TO THE BEST OF MY POWER - ALL OFFENSES AGAINST THAT PEACE - AND THAT - WHILE I CONTINUE TO BE A POLICE OFFICER - I WILL - TO THE BEST OF MY SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE - DISCHARGE ALL THE DUTIES THEREOF - FAITHFULLY - ACCORDING TO LAW. SO HELP ME GOD. Traditionally an oath is either a statement of fact or a promise with wording relating to something considered sacred as a sign of verity. We can not only focus on the bad but we must also motivate for people to live different and free from all of this hatred. Many officers have served their state and the people with excellence. I am not saying to cover the bad or turn your head the other way, just dont provoke and dont classify them all as bad. I SALUTE WITH MUCH RESPECT ALL THE GREAT OUTSTANDING EXCELLENT OFFICERS EVERYWHERE FOR THEIR WELL DONE DUTY AND LOVE FOR ALL PEOPLE. CONTINUE TO DO GREAT THINGS. CONTINUE TO PROMOTE A POSITIVE CHANGE IN ALL COMMUNITIES. AND I WILL ASK YOU TO PLEASE NEVER BECOME INSENSITIVE (although I know the things you see are not easy).
