I understand the need for diplomatic niceties. But, the outpouring - TopicsExpress

I understand the need for diplomatic niceties. But, the outpouring of sympathy from our leaders for the death of King Abdullah is nauseating. He was an absolute monarch in one of the most repressive and backwards countries on earth. There are public beheadings, honor killings, and religious police in Saudi Arabia. Women can not drive, but men can take multiple wives (the King had 30, yes 30 wives). So they heap praise on this guy, and also pat themselves on the back for the job well done in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya for taking out tyrants. I guess they are also patting themselves on the back for Syria, since they are bombing the evil tyrants of ISIS. But, then, what about Assad? Barf barf barf.
