I use a web site that stores the names of guests who have caused damage/theft/trouble on the park/left a mess etc, I have used the site to see if anyone booking with me could cause me problems, I have been told this morning, by someone wishing to book next year that I am wrong to do this, that its against their privacy blah blah. So its ok and advised that a guest looks up an owner, does numerous checks, asks around about the owner, in fact takes so much time checking up on the owner that the date they wanted has been booked by someone else because they took so long! But as an owner I cant check up on a potential guest to make sure Im not inviting trouble into my van? How is that fair? Some guests cause untold damage to vans, they have no respect, as far as they are concerned they paid so they can do what the hell they like, smash the place up, get drunk and cause problems for other caravan guests, burn carpets etc etc, and I do emphasise SOME guests not all. Trust works both ways and owners and guests alike should be allowed to check up on each other if they so wish, a guest has to protect their money before parting with it and an owner has to protect their property before letting it out to complete strangers.
