I used to travel across the west on my bike. One time I stopped off at the Petrified Forest just outside Holbrook, Arizona off I-40 where I took small detour into what was millions of years ago. At first all I saw was desert, nit as I grew nearer to the place to park, I saw the entire area is strewn with what looked like trees, but is this ancient calcified wood shown here, some pieces the size of tree trunks or bigger, and some the size of small houses. I have pictures I took of the petroglyphh there, too, which represented life in this area many thousands of years ago, white characters scratched in the rock depicting male and female characters and many of the events of every day life thousands of years ago. Everywhere I looked I could see the iron rich stone that once was organic life. Somewhere I have several pieces of this most unique stone, but I have not seen them in years. Ill have to look for them if they are still around. That would be a nice surprise.
