I usually dont rant on FB like this, but on this fine Sunday - TopicsExpress

I usually dont rant on FB like this, but on this fine Sunday morning in the great city of New York, I woke up at 9:22, made my coffee and turned on CNN. #CNNSTOU was (still is at the current time of 9:52) on, and already I am aggravated enough to start writing. Government and pundits have already, in the half hour I have been awake, managed to be so idiotic that...I dont even know how to describe this level of just plain stupidity, so...let me just get to my rant. Picture the following coming from President Obama standing in the WhiteHouse briefing room talking directly to reporters. (Initially, I had pictured him in the Oval behind the Resolute desk, but that almost seems like a barrier of protection, and in this address, I want President Obama pissed and on the offensive.) To paint a clearer picture, the President that enters is the same man who wiped the floor with Governor Romney in the 2nd debate. The President: For one hundred years now, Americans have gone back and forth on the issue of healthcare. The passing of the Affordable Care Act is only the most recent chapter. Allow me to offer you the simplest cliff notes version of this last chapter: 1. Americans didnt have health care. 2. Americans get healthcare. Although the outcome of this chapter will forever change the rest of the American novel, in telling the story of this great nation, it is that simple. No amount of bellyaching from across the isle can change that. I realize this simplistic approach offers very little drama for you fine people (talking to reporters) to fill your 24 hour news cycle, so let me tell you about this latest chapter. A new antagonist was introduced. (sarcastically) Youll have to read the previous chapter to see why. (serious, again) And like the snake to Eve, this antagonists purpose is to manipulates characters. And now I am saying enough is enough. The ACA, as it stands now, is not the Democrats plan. The Democrats wanted a single payer system. The same kind of system that now is offered in every country that believes that healthcare is a right and not a privilege. The shortcomings of this system is its overuse. However, innovation, the targeting of preventative medicine, and assuring the price of the exact same treatments do not vary state to state by ridiculous amounts of money would have made a huge difference. Especially down the line as Americans become healthier and more aware of their options to prevent disease, as opposed to today where we just react to diseases. That would have been the Democrats plan. Here is where I made a mistake. I compromised and adopted the Republican plan. The ACA, as it stands now was created by the Heritage Foundation. A clearly conservative and Republican organization. One of the co-founder, Paul Michael Weyrich, once said As a matter of fact our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down, trumpeting the call for voter ID law manipulations, redistricting and even the recent decision by SCOTUS which proved itself to be a mistake merely hours after the ruling. That, we will save for another day. Today is about getting healthcare to million of uninsured Americans. Eventually, the Republican made plan was implemented by Governor Romney, quite successfully, in Massachusetts leading to the term RomneyCare. Since I adopted it in a failed attempt to garner support from across the isle, the Republicans backed away from their own plan. In a congress where house and senate Republicans have made it abundantly clear, through words, actions and message, that they will not work with me, for...(pause) whatever reason...we pushed it through. Since then, Republicans succumbing to the radical right in the fear of being opposed by Tea Party candidates, have offered nothing. Well, nothing helpful at least. They offer no alternative because THIS IS THEIR PLAN. Y0u dont like this plan? Fine, lets fix it. Offer viable solutions that would help these uninsured Americans get access to healthcare. (firmly) But understand this, these uninsured Americans will have healthcare options. Preexisting conditions will never be an issue again. Never again will a family loose everything over sickness. Never again will there be annual and lifetime limits. Never again will an insurance company drop one of its members for getting sick or mistakenly forgetting to fill in a box, dot an i or cross a t. And women will forever more have access to complete health services. The fundamental pillars of the ACA are here to stay. I came to Washington on the promise of change, hope and moving forward. And though mistakes are made by men, this promise is one I intend to keep to the American people. My middle name or the color of my skin are a part of me and I am proud of both. Those offended by either have the right under our constitution to their bigotry. The talk of death panels, socialism, my birth certificate or any of the craftily penned talking points from the right no longer impress the American public. We have bigger fish to fry. Our economy took its biggest hit since the Great Depression. We need to focus on creating jobs for the millions of Americans who are unemployed or working two or three jobs just to make ends meet. Two or three jobs, while congress decides to work 13 more days through the end of the year. The economy has always been my focus as President, but understand that one sixth of our economy is healthcare. The highest world-wide ratio by far. To fix our economy, we must address healthcare. It is time for serious people to come together to come up with serious solutions to very serious problems. Here I am. Are you game? We as a country, as a nation, as the greatest nation, can not move backwards. WE WILL NOT MOVE BACKWARDS. We will care for our seniors. And veterans. And for the 22% of children living below the poverty line. Thats 16 million American kids. Do you only care about life until birth? Our sick and our disenfranchised may be sick and disenfranchised but they are still Americans. And Americans do not leave Americans behind. Now is the time. The world is watching. Do we lead or do we follow? God bless you, God bless America and may God bless Americans. Thank you. Back to me now: If President Obama adopts this attitude, the Democrats will take the house, keep the senate (and probably gain seats) and keep the WhiteHouse. The time is now 1:58. Ill probably reread this entry once or twice before posting it, but the whole process is going to take less than 5 hours. This includes the hour I stepped away. If I managed in 5 hours to write something that would kill the bullshit, refocus the party, send a message, gain popularity, and just for fun, ridicule Sarah Palin, WHAT IS TAKING THE WHITEHOUSE SO LONG? I was beyond disappointed by the 39 Democrats who bailed a couple of days ago... So disappointed that I have an entry on just that titled 39 Democrats. Bailing was a sign of weakness. Not to the President. His mistake was changing the law a week ago. The 39 weakened the Democrats over all. Freaking DINOs. getoutofmyheadblog.wordpress/2013/11/17/mr-president-we-are-waiting
