...things that happen when you have a special needs son/dog... - TopicsExpress

...things that happen when you have a special needs son/dog... might include: after months of doctors and specialists because said son is terminally dehydrated, and you have always known that he does NOT KNOW HOW TO LICK, you discover quite by accident that he is trying to EAT his water and getting barely any water! We practice licking now several times a day with peanut butter, honey, and molasses. Sadly, Whiskey might never understand how to lick up water like a canine... but, he tries really hard. (gets fluids now twice weekly, and we mix his food 4xs a day with water) ... this does NOT help his incontinence or the fact that I have to diaper my son... but he runs in the room and faceplants his whole being onto my shoulder every night with his incredible (being researched by specialists) foul smell and does this weird thing with his nose that mimics what other dogs do with licking... and... I love my son. :)
