I visited the Hindu temple near the end of Kuamoo Road just before - TopicsExpress

I visited the Hindu temple near the end of Kuamoo Road just before the loop at the upper Wailua River where the road ends and the hiking trails begin. It was difficult to find because it is off the road secluded by a Banyan tree forest. I toured the beautiful grounds dotted with statues and other art work and I saw the golden roof of the new white temple being built on the other side of the Wailua. They had a telescope available for our convenience. Afterward I meditated inside the temple. It was there that the most incredible feeling of peace began to descend upon me. When I left the temple, I stopped at the meditation chapel enveloped by an enormous ancient Banyan tree. It was here that my peace became complete. While in the midst of hiking on Sleeping Giant one day, I stopped in the wilderness and felt extreme appreciation for the fact that I was 100% alone with nature; in pure nature with nothing man made and not even any humans to disturb me. I remember wishing I had a chair or a bench there, right off the path on which I could rest in the shade of the path trees, but with plenty of glorious light streaming through to read. I have found since I have moved to the Island of Kauai, the magical island, the Island of God, that I must be very careful for what I wish because I usually get it now. In the Banyan tree chapel are several chairs placed on some of the meditation flag stones for the comfort of older persons who do not do well sitting eastern style on the ground. God manifested for me at the chapel of the Banyan tree what I had wished for on the Kuamoo trail of Sleeping Giant. Mahalo ke akua. Aloha.
