I voted yes on #HR3362, Exchange Information Disclosure Act. The bill requires the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide Congress and the public with weekly reports providing a state-by-state breakdown of consumer interactions with the federal health insurance enrollment website, healthcare.gov, including the number of individuals who have selected various types of plans and the number who have actually enrolled in a plan by paying the first months premium. The reports also must provide information on the problems users have encountered on the website. Since the launch of healthcare.gov, HHS has refused to provide timely and concrete information about the sites functionality and the number of people who have enrolled in various types of plans—information that is vital to gauging the current state of the laws implementation. This bill simply ensures that HHS is providing reliable information to Congress and the public. It passed 259-154.
