I want to add a testimony to how great God is and how He is ALWAYS - TopicsExpress

I want to add a testimony to how great God is and how He is ALWAYS at work in our lives. I recently received an opportunity to get a job that would allow me to be closer to home and to spend more time with my growing family. DLana Alyse Cruz and I had prayed over the need for relief from my demanding work schedule and God answered that prayer. Now even though I had wanted relief from the demands of my job, it was and is hard to walk away from. It is hard to leave what feels like a safe and worry free job into unknown territory. Yesterday in church, Tom Allen spoke about dying, the last of a five part series on being #morethanafan of God. He spoke specifically on Mark 8:34-36 Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? God brought this job opportunity into our lives for a reason. And it is hard to leave a job where I am comfortable. But I am ready to leave my selfish ways, take up my cross, and follow Jesus on the path that he has set for me. I have an abundance of faith that He is leading me toward a fruitful and meaningful life where I can be the man that He has called me to be. A husband and a father. So my moral of the story is to listen and be ready to act when you pray. Answered prayers probably come more often than we think or even notice. We have to be willing to follow His path, even if it leads us away from where we think we should be. Also, if you would like to learn more about being more than a fan of God, you can watch the series on our church website at crosspointchurch.tv/.
