I want to commed President Koroma for listening to his people and acting in like manner by declaring a state of public emergency and for cancelling his trip to the US and cooperating with his colleagues in the subregion in the fight against Ebola. However I want to point out that he was a bit hasty in his public declaration, perhaps because he got information of the action by Ma Ellen of Liberia, so he too made an impromptu arrangement for a public address. This is not to say I did not welcome his address, but listening at his address, I would have loved him to put his thoughts together as bullet points on paper before the delivery. I learnt the decision to address the nation came at the 11th hour yesterday so I will appreciate his venture. He would have clearly specified the restriction of public gatherings as Ma Ellen did, but leaving it very open as he did leaves people to test this restriction especially for those that are still in denial that the disease is unreal. I would have loved him to specify the public gatherings that restrictions should be placed on because our country is a religious conscious one and so gatherings in churches and mosques could hardly be avoided. In this light I advice all and sundry to abide by the message on EBK and minimize public contacts including those at the mosques and churches, I am in no way saying we should not worship our maker, but in a crisis like this it is understandable. I also encourage every sector including political parties to help the government in this fight because it is for our own good. May Allah save us from this disease. My Take!!!!! Amasara Jalloh (Amas)
