I want to give a bit of wisdom to those of you not accustomed to - TopicsExpress

I want to give a bit of wisdom to those of you not accustomed to driving in snow. That clear lane of car tracks that looks like road is almost always ice. Move your car over to the snowy areas. The snow is your friend. It has traction, ice does not. Drive at a moderate pace but as much as possible, keep moving. Tap brakes (except antilock then mash em) to keep speed down and accelerate slowly to keep speed up when required. Absolutely no sudden changes and this includes steering! A light corrective touch is the ticket! One more thing for all you people with 4 wheel drive and jeeps. You live under the same laws of icey roads as the rest of us. You are not immune! So slow down! Same goes for expensive cars. They are pretty but not magic. And for gods sake leave some room between you and the car in front of you. Quit tailgating! You have absolutely no idea what crazy thing is going to happen in front of you. You may be a great driver but you cant control the cars in front of you. This also goes for when you are stopped because you might need room to go around someone. Anyway, just venting. Good Luck next time we get hit by a blizzard of two inches of snow. Good Grief!
