I want to give you a friendly advise as a Social scientist and a designer myself. Make a more friendly/funny spider in your logo instead of a realistic one. Spiders (and snakes) are one of the few visual stimuli that cause heavy aversive reactions on a non-conscious level. To put it simply people are getting negative vibes from spiders and snakes and it all happens unconsciously even without them knowing it. Peoples psychological state will be much more positive if you dont confront them with spiders that look realistic but rather make the spider more friendly (something like a twitter logo maybe). But then again you dont want it to be very cartoonish, it has to be businesslike also. Ive done research in this field, we tested all kinds of animals including cockroaches, wasps, and so on. Spiders and snakes elicit the strongest negative reactions, a remnant of human evolution and the automatic fight or flight mechanism. The first thing that struck me is your real photo of a spider in the header. Oke thats my advise! Good luck! :)
