I want to make a miracle happen: I know a person who needs help. This man is my wifes father, and in the past couple of years, he has had some stormy seas. He has had a stroke, a heart attack, strained family relations, and as of recent, severe financial difficulty, job reduction/loss and he is not getting, nor possibly able to get government assistance. My wife is really affected by this, especially recently and privately. This is her Dad. Theres a lot of stress. Now for the miracle: I believe in the magic and the raw potential that is the amazing human soul. I humbly come before you, world and internet, and ask for, what I would call, a leap of faith fueled by compassion. George is his name. For as much as a survivor as he is, his spark in this world is going out. His belief in hope is all but gone. But I believe. We have the power to revive that spark. Im asking for that spark now. Write him a letter. Put a dollar in it. While driving to work tonight, I reviewed his needs. I thought how? Then I thought of the kindness of people. But then I thought: magic/miracles cant happen without faith; without trust. Im asking you to trust me. Read over my Facebook page, if you like - whatever it takes. He matters more than to be impeded by being shy. Ask me anything, Im an open book, if need be. This is as real as it gets. Send him love. Write a note of encouragement. Show him guys. Hes a slightly cynical, big hearted jokester; a man with a tough exterior that sometimes isnt as tough as it needs to be in this life - but isnt that all of us? Ill make sure he gets it. I want to see his face. I want to see him have hope and real relief. I believe this can work.
