I want to personally thank all of you for supporting Dover Farm. It takes you, the membership, to provide the cash flow to run the farm, but also, it is your words of enthusiasm and support that we especially appreciate. Thank you! A quick summary: We grew 49,093 lbs of tomatoes. (Just kidding!) Actually, it was a terrific year. I feel that the value and quality were excellent. It was our goal to provide an abundance veggies and fruits per week and I feel that in most weeks this was accomplished. I also wanted to provide basic staples such as beans and lettuce and squash and tomatoes with consistency and we did that too. I think we could have given you more kale and swiss chard, but the word from the previous year was that we gave you too much so we cut back. I think we will give you more next year. I hope that is okay. I also want to grow more spinach and broccoli. These are tough to grow without chemicals, but we should be able to have at least two or three weeks of them. We also brought in more volunteers which was fantastic! I wish I had done this earlier. People arrived cheerful and energetic and with ideas and helped harvest and plant and wash and prep and on and on. This was a great thing and we will continue this important component of the farm. Please think about joining our volunteer team! In conclusion: Please sign up NOW for next year! Why? There are several reasons: This will ensure your spot as a part of our farm, and it is vastly easier for us to ask you now than in May. Plus, I am hoping to make some capital improvements; specifically, a new well and irrigation system. This will translate into more crops with even better quality. Membership participation is crucial to making these investments. All we ask is for a $50 deposit and to fill out a slip. We have extra at the sign in table. Our goal is to have 100 members so PLEASE spread the word! Thank You! Sincerely, Bryan and the Farm Team
