I want to share a rather unpleasant experience with Siloam - TopicsExpress

I want to share a rather unpleasant experience with Siloam Hospital in Bali. Our friends, a Spanish couple with their one-year-old son, came to Bali for the first time just over a week ago. Their son came down with a fever within 3 days of being in Ubud, followed by vomiting, diarrhea and blood in his stool. We took him to see a pediatrician at Siloam Hospital. After examining the baby briefly (the doctor seemed more interested in the babys mothers cleavage - this is based on her observation) and conducting a stool test, he claimed that the baby was intolerant to fat and prescribed him some probiotics and sent us home. Two days later the baby still had the fever and this time we took him to Kasih Ibu Hospital, who thoroughly examined him for a good 15 minutes, conducted a blood test, and found out that it was dengue fever! Fortunately it wasnt a severe case and needed no hospitalization. The doctor advised us to go back to Kasih Ibu for daily blood tests for the next three days to monitor the babys condition. The baby finally fully recovered yesterday. How could a pediatrician in a brand new hospital with all the latest technology and facilities be so careless and incompetent? We went there because we heard so many good things about Siloam. It has been an incredibly stressful week and I dont like to leave a negative review unless it endangers someones life. Get your act together, Siloam!
