I wanted to believe that the NCAA would have brought back drawing - TopicsExpress

I wanted to believe that the NCAA would have brought back drawing and quartering if Miami had been 2-4 right now instead of undefeated and positioning itself for a title run, but Ohio State would beg to differ. The people who assert that Yahoo Sports doth protest too much because they didnt get to put Miamis head on the wall...well, they doth protest too much. (Fun fact: protest had a different meaning in Shakespeares time, so if youre aware that Im actually using the phrase wrong, then know that I am too.) A point made by others that bears repeating is that Ohio State, USC, and people like Bruce Pearl and Kelvin Sampson have to be absolutely furious right now. Furious. Ricky Castles and I (respectfully) went back and forth over this with Ohio State, and while I stand by the notion that sometimes its just your job and responsibility to know and follow the rules of your chosen trade - even the stupid ones - honor now dictates that I admit that enforcing your rules stupidly is not really any better than having stupid rules in the first place. sports.yahoo/news/ncaaf--bungled-miami-probe-exposes-ncaa-s-own-legitimacy-issues-in-seedy-detail-201037966.html
