I wanted to say a lil something about Thursday. I feel terrible Spanner & I didnt help sooner. There was a phase where I have been avoiding Facebook....sometimes it feels like social drama. I caught a glance Wednesday on the Wadsworth Police Facebook about Hercules. I figured since it went so viral he wouldve been found asap. Thursday I happened to look on Facebook & say the poor guy was still missing. I made a comment that we might be able to help if needed....I didnt want to intrude if we werent needed. Then I got so many comments asking to help. As I was driving to a friends house Spanner was whimpering. I imagined if it was Spanner stuck out there in the cold. So I looked in the back seat & said Hey buddy wanna work today? Mind you its been a while since hes actually worked so I didnt know how he would react. Next thing I know hes jumping around tellinge lets GO! Knowing its cold out Spanner didnt have a coat to fit him let alone boots anymore to protect his feet. So we ran up to Petco spent a lil over $100 to get protection for him. Being recently laid off mo ey is tight, but I didnt worry about that. I met with Nikki Eagon so Spanner could smell Hercules blanket for a scent....he sniffed it all up! Not knowing where to start since there had been no recent sightings. I figured we would go to the field behing Kohls/Lowes where the power towers were. As we followed 4 wheeler tracks I was beginning to worry. No tracks were being picked up, & the stupid boots kept falling off Spanner. However he kept going & wasnt willing to stop just yet. Suddenly Spanner ran up ahead & we spotted tracks. Going from the apartments behing Kohls and going east into woods behing the Lowes area. We realized they were fresh & beside them was bunny & deer tracks. About 20 min later I answered the question What was Hercules xoing this whole time? Well he found some new furry friends to keep his mind busy lol. Then in some areas the tracks were alternating 3 paws....meaning he was getting cold. When this happens they arent far along to finally wanna bed down & break. Eventually Spanners paws took a tool over all the deep snow so I had to take him to the car. While I knew everyone was using the app to talk....Spanner & I just focused on getting areas searched. Less noise = more info for us. The area we finally stopped at was met with mass dense trees & difficult areas to track through. All I could sum up with Spanner was that Hercules was somewhere with in that vicinity of a square. Little did we realize just past the area we had to stop was where he was at. Luckily others didnt stop & kept looking around that area. Then Denise Coleman Miller finally saw him & keep him safe till Nikki could get to him. While everyone rejoiced seeing Hercules at Target I had to tend to Spanner who was cold & had a limp on his back leg. I told Spanner he was found & showed him pictures....he wagged his tail. So weet him at the vets so Spanner could see he was safe. I wanted to have Spanner meet Hercules but his back leg was sore so he just stayed in the car. I feel terrible we didnt help sooner, but the outcome had a happy ending ♡ Spanner is fine now I think he just pulled a muscle jumping....retirement made him a lil chunky lol
