Fukushima radioactive water is systematically poisoning the entire Pacific Ocean At this time, a huge amount of highly radioactive water leaking into the Pacific Ocean from the ruins of the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan destroyed . This has been happening all day , every day for over two years. The huge amounts of tritium , cesium and strontium that are being released are being transported by wind , rain and ocean currents in the northern hemisphere . And of course , the west coast of the United States is being beaten particularly harshly . When you drink water or eat shellfish that have been contaminated with these radioactive particles can stay for a very long time. In the coming years , this ongoing disaster could affect the health of millions and millions of people living in the northern hemisphere , and the sad thing is that many of these people never even know the real cause of their health problems . For a long time , the Japanese government has been relying on TEPCO to handle this crisis , but now it has become very clear that Tepco has no idea what they are doing . In fact , the flow of radioactive water has gotten so bad that the authorities in Japan are calling an emergency ... Highly radioactive water leaks into the ocean from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan is the creation of an emergency that the operator is struggling to contain an official agency of the country s nuclear watchdog said Monday . This contaminated groundwater has violated an underground barrier , is rising to the surface and is exceeding legal limits radioactive release , Shinji Kinjo , head of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ARN ) , workgroup , told Reuters. The amount of water we are talking about is absolutely huge . According to Yahoo , 400 metric tons of water is being pumped into the basements of the buildings destroyed in Fukushima every day ... Strontium can cause bone cancer and has a half life of about 29 years. And TEPCO now admits that dangerous levels of strontium leaking Fukushima and into the groundwater. And of course , groundwater flows into the Pacific Ocean ... Tepco said in late June that it had detected the highly toxic strontium 90 , a byproduct of nuclear fission which can cause bone cancer if ingested at levels 30 times the allowed rate . The substances , which were released by the meltdowns at the plant following the massive tsunami of March 2011 were not absorbed by the soil and have made their way into groundwater . Well water normally flows to the sea , that is, these two substances would normally make its way into the ocean , possibly affecting marine life and ultimately affects humans who eat the sea creatures. Cesium has an even longer half-life of strontium does. Caesium is absorbed by muscles , where its half-life of 30 years means that it remains until it is excreted by the body. It takes between 10 and 100 days to excrete half of what is consumed. And it is important to note that it has been estimated that each spent fuel pool at the Fukushima nuclear complex could have 24,000 times the amount of cesium that was produced by the U.S. nuclear bomb on Hiroshima at the end of World War 2 . In general, the Fukushima nuclear facility originally contained a whopping 1,760 tons of nuclear material. Thats a huge amount of nuclear material. Chernobyl contained only 180 tons . And of course the Fukushima crisis could be even worse at any time by a major earthquake . In fact, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit northern Japan on Sunday . This is a nightmare that never ends. Every day , large quantities of highly radioactive water from Fukushima is systematically poisoning the entire Pacific Ocean . The damage that is being done is absolutely incalculable.
