I wanted to share a wonderful note from some wonderful people who bought four black warm blood horses from us - Carl and Caroline Cox. They said: Kayo, Have a look at this – I’m still waiting for good still photos, but I thought you might get a kick out of this....not the best quality (we ALL look huge....) And, while some of us are “ample” to be sure, my grooms are TINY little things....but the video does not depict them as such. Oh well! One of the grooms had never been on a carriage – we trained her the day before. Yikes! She was the gal who had the wheelers (after all, how much trouble could Jet and Raven cause anyone...hahaha!) Molly, our principle groom heads the leaders since they tend to have a bit more “spirit”. Sometimes Pop gets fed up with Jazz and will try to nip him or pull at his bridle if he thinks he can get away with it....(meanwhile we use gullet straps and braid the bridles into the manes on ALL of them). Speaking of the team, when we were at the Winterthur Races in Delaware a few weeks ago, another pair of horses spooked and literally jumped INTO the seats of our wagonette (bent the seat backs all to heck....) It caused Jet to rear (we had lent a groom to someone who was having problems, so I was heading him.....he went STRAIGHT up and as tall as I am, I could barely reach him. The wagonette tipped sideways on two wheels and Carl lost a couple of reins.......But we got the boys settled very quickly and they just walked off as quietly as they could possibly be, like nothing ever happened.......it was quite amazing. Had to bring the wagonette back to the Amish folks who made it to be fixed. Sorry to keep bragging, but these are really good horses! Here is about four minutes of these horses at the Upperville competition. They won first place! youtu.be/73-H9HYRaEk
