I wanted to share the generosity of my neighborhood and our community here in Winston-Salem. Yesterday morning, one of our neighborhood mail carriers was hit by a car (hit and run) and was in surgery for most of the day for the leg injury she sustained. Two local florist shops, Bo-Ty Florist and Imagine Flowers have offered to deliver flowers to the hospital, free of charge. Whole Foods is putting together a gift basket for us to take to her. And Shore Farms Organics has offered to put together a box of vegetables for her family. Along with all of that, our neighbors have come together and are raising money so that we can give her a gift card to let her know how much we appreciate her and are sorry this happened to her. There is still kindness in this world and I wanted to let everyone know how proud I am to call myself a resident of West Salem and Winston-Salem.
