I was 17 when in November 1998, after months of intense begging, my dad bought me a beautiful turquoise 1968 Camaro convertible for $8500. Found out recently that the original motor that was in it when we bought it was the original motor for the car. It was swapped out for a basic 350 due to various issues, but we still have the original motor hid in the shop. She has had a transmission rebuild and numerous other fixes. Ive never painted her, but she has a great body and good floor pans. She has sat in my dads shop for several years now, collecting dust, with bad wiring. My plans now are a new wiring harness, new convertible top, new carpet, and new tires. One of my dads best friends is going to fix the wiring for me soon. :) In 2001, my dad found a nice 1967 RS convertible that was white with black stripes with a new black top and perfect new black interior with a fuel-injected motor. We bought it with the plan to sell my 68. After graduating from college in 2003, we began an almost year long frame-off restoration that included TONS of new sheet metal, add-on A/C, and CD player. My dad is a HUGE Chevy guy but not into Camaros. But he became a Camaro expert during that year. The original color was gold, and I wanted butternut yellow. But my dad is a big fan of red (he calls it retail red) and we added black stripes.
