I was a Police officer for 10 years prior to going into the Towing business. I have saw a lot of good in people and a lot of bad in people. But today I saw a pure bred scum. Less than a year ago I had an ex employee re-apply for a job with me. He said he should have never left and I was the best employer he had ever had. I hired him back and he has been given 40 hours each week plus good overtime pay. I gave him a raise at 6 months and he received bonuses above his regular pay. A couple of weeks ago this employee went into the hospital with high fever and feeling week. I was worried about him because I care about my employees. Teresa and I cancelled our 4th of July plans and I worked in his place while maintaining contact with his wife to receive updates on his condition. I loaned him cash while he was in the hospital for a week and when he was released I loaned him the money to get two teeth pulled. The fever he had was being caused because of a broken tooth. He and his wife came to me and I was good enough to give him $925.00 cash and pay him his upcoming vacation pay even though he had not earned the one week vacation. On top of all this, he asked me for another raise yesterday and I increased his salary starting next week. I also gave him a bonus this morning. He seemed happy at lunch and went to the bank to cash his check. At some point, he came back into the office and left the keys to my trucks and other items belonging to the business. He gave no notice to myself or other employees that he was quitting. I went to his house and his wife said he called her with a story that he had an argument with another employee. She said she was going to look for him. I found him after lunch at another towing company just standing around. I asked the other towing company owner if he was working for him and he said no. We then went outside and I asked what was the problem. He said the heavy duty work was too much for him. He admitted that he was a liar. He said he was sorry and I agree HE IS SORRY. I helped this guy when no one else would. He is a liar and a con man. I told him today what a scum he is and I told him I expect my loan money back. I try to help people and I get a con man piece of shit. He will have a lot to pay for come judgement day and he will find out what real hot is. This world has a lot of scum and I discovered one today.
